Student Transfer Policy and Procedure (National Code Std 7)

FIC cannot enrol international students seeking to transfer from another Australian provider until the student has completed 6 months of their principal course of study (except in some exceptional circumstances).

If students wish to transfer to FIC before completing 6 months of their principal course, they need to ask their current provider for a letter of release. The six months is calculated as six calendar month from the first day of your principal course.

Students enrolled at FIC must apply for a letter of release if they wish to transfer to another Australian provider but have not completed 6 months of their principal course of study.

The student must provide verifiable documentary evidence in support of their application for release. This evidence will support the students stated reason for requesting a transfer.

A letter of release will be granted in accordance with the FIC Student transfer policy and procedure and only if the student can supply FIC a valid enrolment Offer letter provided to them by another Australian RTO.

The FIC Student transfer policy and procedure indicates examples of circumstances in which FIC will grant or decline an application from an enrolled student (who has not completed 6 months of their principal course of study) to transfer and cancel their enrolment at FIC.

Transferring providers will impact a student’s visa. Students are recommended to contact the Department of Immigration and Border Protection prior to submitting an application to cancel their enrolment at FIC and transfer to another Australian provider.

Please refer to the Student transfer policy and procedure. A copy of the policy can be accessed by contacting the college at info@flinderscollege.edu.au.
